Our Story

More than a farm.
A place to belong.

Farming with Friends was founded in 2023 by Tristan and Melanie Griffin in honor of their daughter, Scout. What began as one family's hope grew into something Northeast Ohio didn't know it needed — a farm where people with disabilities and typically-abled volunteers work side-by-side, growing genuine friendships through the honest work of growing things together.

How We Work

Three things that make us different

Image

Real Work,
Real Pride

Our participants don't do busy work — they run a farm. Crop production, team leadership. We're pursuing Ohio DODD certification to make these vocational pathways official and sustainable for the long term.

Friendship Across
Every Ability

We don't separate people with disabilities from the rest of the community — we deliberately bring them together. Volunteers don't help participants. They work alongside them. That difference is everything.

Growing Food,
Growing Confidence

Regenerative farming is how we learn, connect, and build practical skills. Together, participants grow fresh food while gaining confidence, independence, and a deeper connection to their community.

We found something that medicine alone couldn't provide — fresh air, purposeful movement, and a reason to get up each day. Being part of a team supported not just his health, but his confidence, connection, and sense of belonging.
